私たちはロシア軍に対し、速やかな軍事行動の即時停止と、平和的解決をはかる対話のテーブルに就くことを、求めます。

すべての人々の生命と尊厳、自由が守られることを希求し、それを破壊するあらゆる暴力や抑圧に断固反対します。

日本の演劇人は、ロシアの民衆の持つ精神的な豊かさ、強さ、そしてロシアの演劇人達の素晴らしい作品の数々に強く感銘を受け、これまで交流を行ってきました。

しかし今の状況は、先人達が目指した人類の進歩だと言えるでしょうか。彼らの夢見た、望んでいた人類の明るい未来なのでしょうか。

私たち表現者は、戦禍を懸命に生きるウクライナの人々、そして国際社会の中で孤立に耐えながらも果敢に平和を訴え続ける勇気あるロシアの人々と、共にあります。そして両国の指導者達が、彼らの「魂の叫び」に耳を傾ける事を強く求めます。

Statement against the Russian invasion of Ukraine

We call on Russia to immediately cease its actions military actions in Ukraine, and to come to the table and engage in dialogue that can lead to a peaceful resolution.

It is our desire that the lives, dignity, and freedom of all people be protected, and we strongly oppose any violence or oppression that would destroy them.

We in Japanese theatre have a relationship with our Russian counterparts that is based on our appreciation of the spiritual wealth of the Russian people, of their strength, and of the many wonderful works of Russian theatre.

But is this current situation the progress that those who came before us were aiming for? Is this the bright future that they wished for and dreamed of for humankind?

We artists stand with the people of Ukraine who struggle to live in the midst of war, and with the brave Russians who continue to call for peace even as their country is isolated by the international community.   We strongly urge the leaders of each country to heed the cries from the souls of the people.
